Annotation

A pin tooth with an artificial stump consists of three parts: a pin, an artificial stump rigidly connected to it, and an outer crown, manufactured separately.
Preparation of the stump and root canal is determined by the design of the pin tooth. If the design of the pinned tooth provides for the preservation of the supragingival part of the root stump, the preparation will consist primarily in giving it a form that, on the one hand, would not prevent the pinning of the tooth, and on the other hand, would produce a highly aesthetic facing part of the artificial crown.
In the manufacture of pin teeth, the design of which requires grinding the supragingival part of the root to the clinical neck, proceed as follows. The labial edge of the root grind to the level of the gums or even lower, relying on the masking edge of the crown or cap gum edge. On the palatal side, the root stump should protrude at least 1–1.5 mm above the gum, which contributes to a better strengthening of the crown part of the pinned tooth.
If the root is prepared for prosthetics in advance, then only its apical third is filled. If the canal is sealed completely, the filling material is removed with special reamers, gradually increasing their diameter.

Algorithm of direct method for making wax composition:

1. Preparation of the stump and root canal
2. Softening lavax and introducing it into the prepared root canal in the mouth
3. Modeling a tooth stump

Algorithm indirect method:

1. Preparation of the stump of the tooth and root canal
2. Removal of the “double” impression
3. Cast a model
4. Making wax composition on the model
